Department Of Primary Industry

Geoscience Victoria, a part of the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI) was the first State Government department to install a visualisation facility to show new 3D geological models to industry and researchers.

Jumbo Vision was very excited about this project and the end result was a tool for 3D visualisation that allows the user to analyse the often very subtle geometric relationships that can control fluid flow networks through rocks.

The system uses Infitec Passive Stereo Visualisation. This is a state of the art system for viewing geological models in 3D using two projectors and interference filters. It reduced eyestrain and minimizes issues with viewing angle and colour shifts associated with other 3D technologies.
